The first homes were completed in 1925, and the Sunset Hills Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Sunset Hills Neighborhood Association highlights traditions ranging from summer concerts and park cleanups to the lighted Christmas balls that fill the trees during the holidays.
